ABOUT THE CHEFS
A graduate from the SAIT culinary apprenticeship program and has worked in various kitchens in Calgary. Sreng and his family emigrated to Canada from war torn Cambodia in 1985.
Sreng has traveled through southeast Asia and frequently visits Cambodia where he gets much inspiration from the local cuisine. With a strong passion for Southeast Asian and Italian cuisine, Yeng has hopes to travel to Italy in the near future to experience the food, wine, and culture.
Yeng Sreng has been the Sous Chef at Mercato Mission for the last 5 years.
Corrina Williams began her culinary journey in 2012. As most aspiring cooks, she started in another family restaurant as a dishwasher on a part time basis and confidently worked her way up the line to the cooks position in a short period of only 2 years.
Corrina joined Mercato West in December 2014 while concurrently enrolled in the Professional Cooking program at S.A.I.T. Corrina went on to complete this program.
Corrina started as a cold side cook and quickly learned all facets of other stations as well as mentoring and teaching other cooks.
In June 2017, at 23 years old she became the youngest Chef at the helm of Mercato West.
