Duties and responsibilities

  • Adhere to shipping and receiving policies/procedures
  • Loading and unloading products from trucks
  • Receive merchandise and ensure the shipment content matches invoices/orders
  • Pick, pack, seal, and label products to prepare for shipping
  • Stock shelves with received shipments, using the appropriate sorting/organization system and equipment
  • Move products around warehouse using pallet jack
  • Aware and follow basic inventory and waste guidelines
  • Work collaboratively as a team and assist other teams when required
  • Maintaining clean and organized working environment
  • Occasionally using company vehicle to deliver customer orders around Edmonton
  • Performs additional duties provided by management
    
  1. External Customer
  • Engage with customers, answering questions, and promoting product and services that we offer, enhancing loyalty, sale and profit
  • Delivers customer service the Italian Centre Way (3 pillars of Customer Service) and communicates with shippers and suppliers
  • Assists in loading and unloading of products from trucks in a safe manner
  • Processes transactions with accurately and efficiently by reviewing the packing/delivery slips and invoices
  • Pick, pack, seal and label product to ensure they are ready for shipment

  
  

   

  2. Internal Customer:
  • Participates in the Italian Centre Process, encouraging peers within the Department to play a role in it
  • Follow all policies and procedures within the department
  • Presents and maintains a safe work environment
  • Communicate professionally and respectfully with all other departments within the store

  
  

  3. Ambassador
  • Promote a positive company image by actively engaging with employees, customers, suppliers and the community
  • Represent ICS both in and out of the store
  • Share their ideas or observations with Supervisors/ Store Managers in regards to new items or trends in the market

   

  4. Budget and Finance
  • Adhere to their posted schedule, requesting through Store Manager for any changes
  • Aware and follow basic inventory and waste guidelines

  Education:

  
  

  • High School or GED from an accredited school system or program is preferred.

  
  

  Experience:

  
  

  • A minimum of two year experience in a warehouse role.
  • A minimum of two year experience in a customer focused role.

  
  

  Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent listening skills and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Forklift Certificate Required
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License is an asset
  • Ability to work under pressure, while maintaining a professional image at all times
  • Work independently with little direct supervision
  • Have a well-balanced concern for both task and people
  • Have a genuine concern for needs of customers

Job requires employee to work a variety of shifts including mornings, days, weekends and holidays.   Job can also require employee to work with challenging customers and/or situations.
