Canadian Grocer Magazine, THE magazine for all things business in grocery, has put Teresa at the top of the list of winners for 2014. Since taking over the helm of the independent grocery chain from her father, Frank, in 2001, Teresa Spinelli has grown the Edmonton-based Italian Centre Shops to three stores from one. She’s also opened a restaurant, called Massimo’s Cucina Italiana. |

“I learned ‘the more you give, the more you get’ from my dad,” says Spinelli. “I am very committed to our community and we all do our best to participate in community fundraising and related initiatives. To do anything well, it takes a village. I don’t do it for glory or recognition, but every time I do something from my heart, the universe brings it back to me twofold.”
